Day 1 Arrive Ashgabat. Accommodation in “Ak Altyn” 4* hotel.

Day 2 Ashgabat

Ashgabat city sightseeing tour including the visiting of the Presidential Square, monument of Independence, National Museum of History & Ethnography where a full collection of Turkmenistan’s most significant architectural finds, a large number of Ancient Turkmen carpets and rugs, examples of national dress and fabrics, traditional household equipment, musical instruments, weapons, jewelry, medals and historical documents are displayed.  Drive to Bagir settlement (15 km. to the west from Ashgabat), visiting of the historical and archaeological site “Ancient Nisa – the Residence of Parthian Kingdom” UNESCO site from 2007 (Nisa is situated at the crossroads of important commercial and strategic axes. The archaeological remains vividly illustrate the significant interaction of cultural influences from Central Asia and from the Mediterranean world. The Parthian Empire was one of the most powerful and influential civilizations of the ancient world, and a brilliant rival of Rome which prevented the expansion of the Roman Empire to the east. Nisa, the capital of the Parthian Empire, is the outstanding symbol of the significance of this imperial power). Next visit is the biggest mosque in Central Asia located in Kipchak settlement. Day 3 Ashgabat – Mary

Drive Mary city (350 km. to the east from Ashgabat). Along the way to Mary visiting the historical site Anau and ensemble of “Seyitjemaletdin” mosque (15th century “Beauty house). Anau was inhabited since Neolithic times, it was known as Bagabad to Silk Road travelers. The city was blossoming till the times of Mongols who made the city into ruins. But the live here was renewed the remains found on its territory proves this fact as finding dated to XII-XIV centuries.

New ascent was during the governing of Timurids (1336-1405, established by Timur (Tamerlan) but from that time only sardoba of XV century with round reservoir 6,5m in diameter and mosque “Seyidjemal-ed-din” still remain. The mosque was built as the inscription on facade said in 1456 when Khorasan was governed by Abu-l-Kasim Baber Bahadurhan. The construction was financed by its vezir Muhammed Hudaidot, who chose the place at the grave of his father sheikh Djemal-ed-din.

Next visit is the ancient city Abiverd (14th century). Abiverd was one of the most significant cities of North Khorasan, repeatedly mentioned in written sources, namely from the times of Arab conquest. Historian At-Tabari wrote exact date of Khorasan cities ‘s conquest such as Abiverd, Nisa, Serakhs and Merv by Arabs in 651. Arrival in Mary. Overnight in hotel “Margush”.

Day 4 Mary

Drive to Bairam Ali town. Visit the historical site “Ancient Merv” (Margiana Alexandrine 1st century BC – 18th). The ancient city of Merv (Persian Marv) contains a succession of ancient cities developed over a period of 2500 years at the heart of the oasis formed by Murgab river delta, and close to the course of where the main river channel flowed in ancient times. Visiting of Sultan-kala (9th-12th centuries), Gyaur-kala (3rd century BC-9th century AD) and Erk-kala (1st millennium ВС), sightseeing to the architectural monuments which are concentrated around “The pearl of ancient Merv” the Sultan Sandjar Mausoleum, rising high above the center of Sultan-kala. In the period of Sultan Sanjar, Merv was the capital of their great country, the largest town in Middle Asia and in the whole Muslim East. Site seeing of sites: Greater and Lesser Gyz Gala (Maiden Fortress), Ashabs’ Mausoleum, Hoja Yusup Hamedany Mausoleum and Muhammed-ibn-Zeid Mausoleum. Return to Mary. Drive to the airport. Flight to Ashgabat. Arrive in Ashgabat. Overnight in “Ak Altyn” hotel.

Day 5 Ashgabat

Visiting of “Gulistan” market (so called Russian bazaar), visiting of Carpet Shop where tourists can enjoy the variety of famous handmade Turkmen Carpets. Visiting of “Ertogrul Gazi” mosque and  the park of 10 Akhaltekin horses. Check out from hotel. Drive to the airport. End of program.
